Sanjiv is a non-executive chairman and a board member of Infozech.
Sanjiv spent the first 20 years of his career in the IT industry, working in companies like ORG Systems, Wipro, IBM, in various sales, marketing and business management roles.
In 2001, he got into entrepreneurship, by leading a Management Buy-out (MBO), of a struggling software company, Comviva (earlier Bharti Telesoft Ltd). He turned around this company, raised VC funding from companies like Westbridge Capital, Sequoia, and Cisco, and grew it to become a leading company in the telecom Value added Services (VAS) segment. This company was later acquired by Tech Mahindra.
Sanjiv was also the CEO of National Institute for Smart Government, (NISG), a not-for-profit company promoted by Government of India, Dept of Electronics and IT, to promote the cause of e-governance in the country. NISG works with a large number of Government departments and ministries, both in central government and state governments, to advise and handhold them in their e-governance initiatives. In 7 years, Sanjiv grew this organisation from 50 people to 700, all recruited from the private sector, helping various Government departments in their technology initiatives.
Currently, Sanjiv has started an organisation, Saarathi Enterprises, a mentoring and angel investing set-up, and is actively mentoring 4-5 companies.
Sanjiv holds a bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and has done MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
