Paradigm shift from Internet of Things (IOT) to Internet of Everything (IOE)
Our last domain focus was People, Asset and Energy integration and carrying forward this concept we are discussing about remote integration of assets in this article. Availability of electronic gadgets, wireless connectivity and presence of economical mobile connectivity, has led to drastic growth in the number of devices being connected to the internet in last few years. This evolution gave birth to Internet of Things (IoT), which targets connecting anything, anywhere and at any time. Internet of things is nothing but mechanizing and automating tasks that focuses on making human life easier. This paradigm points towards connectivity of devices, from a car connected to cell phone, a cell phone to GPRS system and GPRS system to roads. IoT involves smart communication and interaction not only among machines but also machine to infrastructure, machine to environment, environment to buildings and monitoring tools etc. This concept has made it feasible to connect nearly any type of device to central data repository enabling real time data capturing that helps to reduce manpower, efforts, operational cost and further leads to improved services.
Infozech’s product suite- iTower is an effort from Infozech to explore concept of “Internet of Things”. The products automate tower operations, which are necessary to keep the site operational for 24 X 7. Now the end users need not to worry about accuracy of site data and the data can be validated without any efforts. Through RMS systems the client is able to monitor and control the site remotely but can also detect any malfunctioning at site without actually visiting. In case of any break down on site a user can assign technician the corrective task. The user can even observe the activities performed by the technician through GPRS and other RMS system.so the client not only has efficient site data in a considerate view but it also allows the client to interact with other vendors as well.
The Internet of Things is the network of physical devices accessed through the internet. It allows devices to communicate and facilitate each other in performing functions which previously were not possible. If there were computers that knew everything there was to know about things, using data they gathered without any help from human then we would be able to track and count everything, and greatly reduce waste, loss and cost. We would know when things needed replacing, repairing or recalling, and whether they were fresh or past their best. In coming years, most of the devices will be connected through IOT and will be change the future of machines as it appears today.
